Things to do in Green Lake

Novice or seasoned professionals can enjoy a challenging and spirited round of golf on some of the states top-notch courses. Green Lake is home to the oldest golf course in Wisconsin, Tuscumbia, and the number one Wisconsin public golf course of 2008, Lawsonia. Mascoutin Golf Club is also nearby —just 8 miles north of Green Lake.
As the deepest natural lake in Wisconsin, Green Lake is listed as a "quality fishing opportunities" lake. Both open water and ice fishing provide endless chances to catch the "big fish" you have been waiting for. There are a number of fishing guide services available and seven public launch sites make access easy. A popular fishing spot is located at the dam directly across the street from the Keipe Hotel.
Boating and Water Sports
Whether you want to take a pontoon boat out for a leisurely ride, play around on jet skis, or try a little water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding of your own, Green Lake has it all. With more than 27 miles of shoreline to explore and many local business that provide recreational rentals your water adventures are unlimited in Green Lake.
Green Lake has two public beaches with playground equipment, outdoor grills, restrooms and large open areas for a fun day of playing and relaxing. Pack your cooler and pick a spot for an afternoon picnic.
Green Lake's public bike routes will take you through some of the most picturesque scenery in a lake setting. With trails of various difficulty and bicycle rentals available through local businesses, Green Lake provides biking opportunities for riders of any age and endurance level. Shoppers will uncover unique gifts, quality home décor, delicious delicacies, beautiful artwork and unique treasures in Green Lake's quaint downtown shopping district. Cold weather brings a plethora of winter activities to Green Lake. Enjoy an evening under the lights on the charming ice skating rink just 2 blocks from the Keipe Hotel. Explore 7 miles of groomed cross country skiing and snow shoeing trails at the Green Lake Conference Center. See nature through the miles of snowmobile trails intertwined throughout the Green Lake are or go sledding, ice fishing or ice boating.
Enjoy live music at local restaurants/bars and other public venues, including Thrasher Opera House and concerts in the park, held every Wednesday night in the summer months. Visiting Caestecker Library for an author's lecture, visit an art gallery, or learn to pursue your own passions through the art and education opportunities at Town Square, all within two blocks of the Keipe Hotel.
